JUDAS FUCKIN’ PRIEST 1982
I just finished his book “My Appetite For Destruction: Sex, Drugs and Guns N’ Roses”. Loved it. Love the guy even more. I hope i can give him a hug someday.

Eddie Van Halen himself called Steven up concerning the Hamsters of Rock shirt. Nice thing bout GNR was that they said FU even to their heroes. It was all that us and them attitude with everyone. Noone was sacred.
By gems, i mean bands that are maybe forgotten but none the less good. Really good. Bands that had their momentum but lost it for whatever reason and never got back on the track. Some of those bands we’re BIG in Japan only and we’re totally unknown or with a little buzz elsewhere and in their home countries. They made great records that stand the test of time, they had the looks and had the IT but…well, they still rock and Art of Rock never forgets noone who really could rock.
So here they are, todays gems, big in Japan only, Canada’s own TEAZE:

Best offering: second album “On The Loose” (1978)
Izzy was always the coolest cat in GN’R and he used to skate too. He stepped out just before the band went totally nuts. Izzy’s contributions to the band can not be underrated, he writing a lot of classic tunes from “Mr. Brownstone” to “Don’t Cry” and directing the band’s image in the old pre-Appetite days. He brought Hanoi Rocks influences to the band which some might say are pretty crucial. He never wanted the band to be that big and always kept his own self in all the madness.
Here’s Izzy showing his ramp skills:

Cliff rockin’ a sleeveless Blue Öyster Cult jersey and that kinda warped version of the Misfits Crimson Ghost tattoo.

Nice laidback “fit leather jacket, wayfarer and pushead misfits shirt” combo by James Hetfield.
—-

Long live the worn-out white Hi-Tops. Even though Cliff never wore a pair in his lifetime ( At least it has been said so).
—-

Parody shirts happening here. Lynyrd Skynyrd x Jack Daniel’s and James wears the legendary Metallica x Alcoholica shirt, idea they picked up from the media.
—-

Mandatory couch picture.
—-

More Crimson Ghost and some some happy faces. They always smiled in those shots from the Cliff-era. You can really tell they we’re young and happy before Cliff passed away.
—-

Cliff and his bellbottoms ofcourse ( He never wore anything but..) and you see what i was talkin’ bout? More happy faces and Misfits shirts.

Bullet belt!

You can see some of the influences from those day on the walls. Thin Lizzy, Motörhead and UFO.

Self-explanatory.
Eighties rock scene in Strip would’ve been less glamorous and more dull without a local club “Cathouse”, owned by L.A.’s own Riki Rachtman and Faster Pussycat’s singer Taimee Downe. With a lot of famous rockers making their presence, it started to attract more and more female audience and that became a hottest spot in the city. With Roth getting a blowjob in Riki’s office and with Sixx doing blow from the bartable, it still remains as one of the naughtiest and sleaziest club ever existed on this planet.
Penelope Spheeris’ documentary “Decline of the Western Civilization Part II: Metal Years” included two live performances by Pussycat in there and Guns filmed their unrelased video for “It’s So Easy” in Cathouse.
Shirts were worn by a lot of people from Guns to Cinderella:

As a HUGE fan of original vintage metal and rock shirts, this one surely made my day. Available at Ebay for 1000 dollars, track it down!
